The mining of perlite ore takes place in open-pit mines<\/strong> located in volcanic areas in different regions of the world. The ore is milled<\/strong> and sifted<\/strong> in different sizes so that it can be transformed later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The processed ore is calcined<\/strong> at 1000\u00b0C which causes the water molecules inside to evaporate, exploding and expanding<\/strong> up to 20 times<\/strong> its original volume, producing the expanded perlite<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Perlite is a volcanic mineral<\/strong> with a high water molecule<\/strong> content within its structure<\/strong>. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The expanded perlite <\/strong>is a white granular material<\/strong> that is extremely lightweight,<\/strong> the new structure gives it remarkable thermo-acoustic qualities<\/strong>. The countless micropores<\/strong> of dry air in the new structure makes the material behave<\/strong> as a very efficient natural insulator<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The expanded perlite<\/strong> retains the original qualities of the natural mineral, it is chemically neutral<\/strong>, inert<\/strong> to atmospheric agents<\/strong> and the passage of time<\/strong>, non-combustible<\/strong>, non-toxic<\/strong>, insoluble<\/strong> and non-hygroscopic<\/strong>. That makes the perlite as an efficient natural insulation for the construction industry and agriculture.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
